eThekwini Surf Pro (LQS 1,000)

We are excited to announce that WSL will return to Durban this June for the inaugural eThekwini Surf Pro. Scheduled for 7-9 June 2024, it includes a QS 1,000 and LQS 1,000.

The eThekwini Surf Pro is the first regional QS event of the 2024/25 season, valuable regional QS points are on the line to qualify for the 2025 Challenger Series.

The Longboard Qualifying Series is back and offers the opportunity for one male and one female to qualify for the World Longboard Tour (WLT).

WSL – Member Pro Registration – filter to RSA by nation and enter for Male or Female after registration.

Insurance:
All surfers are required to have insurance that covers competing at a professional event.
WSL Members have the opportunity to select an Insurance Policy from AHI through MemberPro – or they can select the option to purchase their own insurance elsewhere.

Visa Applications
Should you require an invitation letter from WSL to accompany a VISA Application or any for any other purpose kindly email Luqmaan Bruce.

How to enter the eThekwini Surf Pro LQS

Step 1: Signup or login to WSL MemberPro https://wsl.memberpro.net/main/body.cfm



Step 2: Register as a WSL Member all 4 options will allow you to enter LQS events. Fill out your card details and click Pay.



Step 3: (If you are a new member) Login and update your login details

Step 4: Purchase Insurance (Top right-hand corner menu)

. All surfers must have insurance coverage to compete in WSL events. If a surfer wants to take out insurance other than AHI, they will need to send a copy of their policy and contact our regional office via email lbruce_contractor@worldsurfleague.com

. For South Africans with medical aid & who are covered for injuries sustained while competing during a professional event, you need to click you will click the “Waiver of Insurance” option
 and send through your medical aid policy cover summary.
A Surfer who does not want to purchase the AHI insurance coverage must ensure that their policy is sufficient to cover the risks of participating in a professional surfing event, including any loss or injury that they may eventually suffer.

Step 5: Enter Events!
 In the top right menu, find ‘Events’, then ‘Event Registration’.
You can sort the events by various criteria and only display for example the events in your region. When an event is open for entry, the status is ‘Click Here to Register’.

 On the following page you will need to check the ‘Proof of age’ and ‘Rules’ box to activate the ‘I Accept’ box at the bottom.
Please note that you will not actually pay for an event fee at registration. The money will only be taken from your account if you make the event list of registrants. Follow the usual next steps to authenticate your credit card and secure your registration.

You will receive a confirmation email, also sent to our Tour Manager. You are now Waitlisted for the event.
When the registration closes online, you will either be confirmed on the event list (and your credit card will be charged) or be placed on an alternate list in case spots open later (format change, cancellations etc.).

Step 6: Cancellations

 – All cancellations must be emailed to cancellations@worldsurfleague.com.
